Senior Desktop Engineer
Hybrid to Wayne, PA
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, and highly driven Senior Desktop Engineer to support our internal teams at Frontline Education. This role reports into the Senior Manager of IT and Systems Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Manage/Mitigate corporate end-user issues
- Maintain corporate end-user devices
- Inclusion in corporate after-hours on-call
- Maintain corporate documentation
- Groom documentation created by technicians
- Log system problems/resolutions in specified corporate IT task management system
- Enact solutions that will resolve problems or enhance processes
- Make recommendations to leadership as a SME on process or solution design
- Initiate projects with budget approval and see them through to completion
- Serve as senior technical leadership to the team of technicians
- Engage and deliver projects on time without oversight
- Drive engagement and completion of Service Desk project work
- Plan and run technology related to large group and company meetings
- Manage and enact new user onboarding process
- Manage and maintain technical specs/standards for all corporate end points
- Manage and maintain corporate imaging platform and process
Competencies
- Advanced experience with:
- Microsoft Windows, macOS
- Dell and Apple hardware
- Windows/Mac imaging and deployment
- SCCM, Intune, Jamf
- Microsoft 365 and Entra ID Administration
- Microsoft PowerShell
- Cloud-based desktop virtualization including Amazon Workspace and Azure Virtual Desktop
- Experience with:
- Collaboration Platforms - Slack, Teams, Zoom
- Productivity and Project Management Platforms
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning
- ITSM - Ticketing, Inventory, Incident Management, Change Management
- Understanding of:
- ADS, DNS, DHCP, GPO
- Core networking/switching/wireless functions
- Client-server OS relationships
- Traditional virtualization platforms (VMWare, Hyper-V)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a propensity to think outside the box
- Ability to diagnose and remedy problems on the fly and without guidance; Interpret and implement corporate policy without specific guidance; provide expert advice to management in relation to problem solving and user care
Qualifications
- B.S. or Associates Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
- 5 years experience working in a technical or help desk position
- Strong interpersonal skills must be a team player
- Must have high degree of personal integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Must uphold, safeguard and promote the organization’s values and philosophy relating particularly to corporate ethics, integrity and priorities
- Ability to work without supervision on day-to-day basis
