Technical Services Consultant I – Business Analytics
Location Requirements: This position is Remote.
Your role on the team:
As a Technical Services Consultant I, you will work with client financial data and partner with various teams within the Data & Analytics Line of Business to provide professional services related to building and maintaining client models. Attention to detail and a systematic approach to preparing data and validating models in addition to an understanding of Account Principles is needed for this role.
You can expect to:
• Act as lead on client data meeting(s) to ensure seamless acquisition of client data.
• Setup SFTP or API connections with client and confirm files are received.
• Load client data and confirm accuracy of data load.
• Provide support and develop database queries to assist in acquiring data from clients.
• Develop Python based packages to automate data acquisition or transfer.
• Develop and improve processes and procedures for data analytics team including standardizing data ingestion and mapping processes for D&A datasets.
• Mentor and/or train peers as needed.
• Provide feedback to team members responsible for product development to help enhance the user experience and increase client engagement.
• Act as resource for other team members regarding specific state/client knowledge and product functionality. May participate in selected committees/projects.
• Understand the process of creating templates, reports, and dashboards to ensure successful client onboarding.
• Knowledge of Fund Accounting and general accounting principles.
• Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
What you bring to the role:
• Ability to interact with clients to discuss data, data anomalies or communicate project status.
• Ability to clearly identify and discuss data, data anomalies, and communicate project status.
• Advanced Excel is preferred
• Accounting/General Ledger
• Understanding of School Finance practices
• Knowledge of Airflow is preferred
• Knowledge of Jira and Confluence is preferred
• Knowledge of Salesforce is preferred
This role requires:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or 3+ years of experience working with databases, data acquisition, and data management.
• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL, DBT and databases.
• Experience in Python Scripting.
• Advanced knowledge of API and SFTP Setup and Troubleshooting.
• Ability to interact with clients to discuss data, data anomalies or communicate project status.
• Knowledge of Fund Accounting or general accounting principals
• Knowledge of Financial Information Systems Data
• Advanced Excel Skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at a time.
• Depending on individual assignment, expert level knowledge of public sector data or experience in education administration.
